What we are looking for

A strong communicator and collaborator comfortable at the strategic, operational, analytical and technical levels, to maximise SEO performance and join our Performance, Growth and Insights team. Reporting directly to the Digital Performance Specialist, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of our Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) strategy.

Your day will include

  • Developing and implementing new strategies to drive performance potential
  • Becoming knowledgeable on the UNICEF Australia organisation and developing a solid understanding of our various work streams, programmes and objectives to help shape your vision for a SEO strategy
  • Ongoing audits and reviews to identify trends and areas for improvement, implementing solutions along the way
  • Identifying content requirements by collaborating with and soliciting these from content producers and fundraising and communications teams
  • Reviewing Google Ads setup and performance and ensuring this is accounted for in an integrated search strategy
  • Developing objectives, clear KPIs and benchmarks that ladder up to our organisational and fundraising goals
  • Delivering training sessions to the wider team, updating on developments, new tools, trends etc. and how we’re adapting
  • Working with the performance, growth and insights team and key stakeholders in driving the overall vision, strategy, website plans and roadmap to deliver website-related initiatives

We would like you to have the following skills and experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business or similar
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard and current SEO practices and proven experience in SEO roles with strong experience with SEO reporting
  • Demonstrable experience managing SEO programmes internally, working with external digital agencies and vendors or working with clients directly
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML/CSS and Javascript as to how it affects SEO and experience using CMS platforms (preferably Kontent) and relevant tools (e.g. Screaming Frog٫ MOZ, SEM Rush, Google Analytics)
  • Numerical/analytical aptitude and skill٫ developing clear insight and turning data into stories that can easily be understood with clear recommendations
  • While this is not a copywriting or content production role, knowledge of best practices and some experience in the production space would be looked upon favourably
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills
  • A strong interest in current affairs with a passion for world news, human rights, social justice and in working in the international aid and development sector
