The Organisation

UNSW Medicine & Health is a national leader in learning, teaching and research, with close affiliations to several of Australia’s finest hospitals, research institutes and health care organisations. With a strong presence at UNSW Kensington campus, the faculty have staff and students in teaching hospitals in Sydney as well as regional and rural areas of NSW including Albury/Wodonga, Wagga Wagga, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.

Why this role matters

This position will play a key role within the Indigenous Health Education Unit, UNSW Medicine and Health by providing leadership and strategic thinking in developing and implementing innovative and Indigenising learning practices.

The role entails designing and developing quality online learning activities, modules, programs and courses in collaboration with academic staff to implement Indigenous Health learning and teaching strategies of UNSW Medicine and Health.

Who you are:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in developing online and on-campus resources informed by an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and cultural knowledges and how higher education students learn and a commitment to ongoing professional development and scholarly approach to the duties.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior management and liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver professional learning in the development of learning assets drawing on Indigenous knowledges and using appropriate technologies for learning and teaching purposes.
  • Excellent time management skills, demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines using judgement and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team and take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
