About the team

Development and Alumni Relations [DAR] oversees the University’s alumni, philanthropic and community strategies. The function works collaboratively across the University to embed philanthropic and engagement activity into the University’s operations. The core responsibilities of the team is to lead and build on the University’s alumni, donor and community relations to advance the University goals.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will, under limited direction, be responsible for identifying and researching potential donors to the University as well as data collection, management and analysis of data for the Development staff.

About the role

The Prospect Intelligence Officer is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and analytical professional to assist in the continued development of comprehensive prospect identification and research program to support strategic fundraising objectives. This role will also be responsible for the upkeep of constituents’ records into our CRM, producing various profile reports and generating critical insights of new prominent alumni and potential donors.

About you

Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant degree qualification or equivalent competency
  • Substantial relevant research experience and demonstrated analytical skills, involving extracting information and assigning values
  • Working knowledge of REX (Blackbaud-CRM) or a similar database system and well-developed ability to extract relevant information for analysis
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write detailed profiles and presentation notes
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and investigative skills when researching information
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of extracting data from such sources as Factiva, Morningstar DatAnalysis, GiftSearch or similar for the purposes philanthropic research and analysis
  • Experience working in higher education or not-for-profit sector is desirable
