What you’ll be doing in this role

This role reports to the Director Governance Risk  & Quality and is a senior member of the Uniting Governance, Risk and Quality Directorate. It is responsible for leading a team dedicated to all aspects of quality and service improvement across all service lines in our large and complex service organisation. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • The ongoing development and maintenance of our best practice organisational Quality Management Framework that governs the quality management architecture of Uniting.   
  • Actively assisting service stream leaders to develop and evaluate quality systems and process in accordance with the organisation’s quality management framework.
  • Managing our internal policy framework, including process, tools, consultation requirements and approval processes.
  • Leading business improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities for process efficiency.
  • Enhancing and monitoring a whole of organisation (continuous improvement) system for recording and tracking actions from comments and complaints, employee feedback, internal audits, external audits and Regulator feedback / direction.
  • Working closely with IT, Communications and key operational colleagues to enhance and maintain the Uniting Document Management System (DMS) architecture and promote organisational compliance with DMS requirements.
  • Working closely with operational services and Risk and Assurance to ensure that the organisation meets accreditation/licensing requirements and is prepared for external accreditation/licensing reviews and audits.

Who we’re looking for

Ideally, you’ll bring proven senior experience in leading a Quality function in a large, complex service organisation and you’ll also have:

  • A deep knowledge of the concepts and principles of quality management and evidence-based practice in a human services or healthcare setting.
  • Strong strategic leadership capabilities and experience in leading and implementing change and driving service quality improvements. 
  • High quality written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced skills in navigating a complex organisation and in forging positive and productive stakeholder relationships.
  • Post Graduate and/or Bachelor qualification in a relevant business field.
  • Preferably you’ll also have a knowledge of the sectors that Uniting provides service in and their Australian laws and regulations across the industry.
