About the opportunity:

Catalyst is a six week, non-residential ‘day' rehabilitation program for people who have experienced problematic alcohol and other drug use. It is for clients who have completed a withdrawal and need a period of intensive therapeutic support to prevent relapse and maintain their changed behaviour. We are seeking an experienced AOD Counsellor to join our team in our innovative national award winning program. By joining our multi- disciplinary team, you will have an opportunity to further develop your clinical skills with a diverse group of participants both as an individual counsellor and group facilitator.

About you:

We are looking for a skilled counsellor who is enthusiastic, energetic, confident and who works well in a team environment. To be successful in the role you will have a tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, nursing or other relevant allied health discipline. Previous experience in the sector would be highly regarded. It is expected that the applicant will have Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs Work or required competencies in AOD, qualifications in dual diagnosis or willingness to undertake, as well as demonstrated experience working with AOD or dual diagnosis clients.

Employment is subject to satisfactory criminal history and Victorian Working with Children Checks prior to commencement. Uniting is proud to be an inclusive employer and committed to keeping children safe.
