We, the four Learn Local Neighbourhood Houses in the City of Whitehorse, joined together to form the MACV Alliance, which includes Mitcham Community House, Avenue Neighbourhood House, Clota Cottage Neighbourhood House and Vermont South Neighbourhood House. We offer affordable, quality, subsidised pre-accredited training and courses. Participants can learn basic computer skills, sign language, English language, office skills, career skills and more.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to undertake a short-term project focusing on building partnerships within the employment/training and Learn Local sectors. We are seeking a talented and motivated Project Officer to join our team and make a real difference to the employability and wellbeing of vulnerable people living in the City of Whitehorse.

This is a Part-Time, Fixed Term Contract position - 12 hours per week, for 26 weeks.

The person we are looking for will have:

• Relevant qualifications and/or substantive experience working in the community, employment or adult education sectors.
• Demonstrated success in business development, marketing, and/or partnership building.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a well developed ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Solution focused and self-motivated, with an intrinsic desire to strive for excellence.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• It would also be advantageous to have a knowledge of the Learn Local, training and employment sectors, as well as experience working with a Steering Committee, or similar.
