About the role:

We are seeking individuals with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and a dependable work ethic to join our team as Casual Events Officers. Reporting to the Venue & Events Manager, the EventsOfficer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of events at the Victorian Pride Centre. Responsibilities include event set-up and pack-up, maintaining the cleanliness of event and meeting spaces, tending the Bar, and providing Front of House and ushering services during programming seasons. (Must be available during Pride Centre programming seasons: Midsumma Festival - January 21 to February 11, 2024 & Pride Month – June 7 to June 30, 2024).

By working closely with the community, the successful candidate will play a vital role in making the Pride Centre accessible and enjoyable for all.

About You:

Required Qualities

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive temperament.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
  • Current Working with Children’s Check (Employment Type).
  • Ability to understand and comply with relevant policies, processes and practices with regard to conduct, working with others, uniform, personal hygiene, and health and safety.
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.

Desirable Qualities

  • Previous experience in a bar/restaurant/café hospitality environment with bar (preferred), or general customer service experience.
  • Previous ticketing experience.
  • Experience with Priava online booking software or similar.
  • An understanding of the LGBTIQ+ sector and current/contemporary issues faced by LGBTIQ+ communities.
