The Manager is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for the organisation under the guidance of the Board. Key areas of responsibility include day to day management of WILMA operations, human resource management, financial management, risk management, service promotion, public accountability and partnerships, and Work Health and Safety.

ABOUT WILMA WOMEN’S HEALTH CENTRE

WILMA Women’s Health Centre is a women-only Centre located in Campbelltown providing information, counselling, group work and alternative health services to women in the Macarthur area. WILMA is also active in health promotion, advocacy, lobbying and community development. WILMA is for the women of Macarthur and operates on feminist principles.

Its focus is the provision of trauma-informed, affordable services that are sensitive to the needs of women with complex health issues or recovering from violence. We concentrate on improving the health of women experiencing disadvantage and at risk of poorer health outcomes by utilising a partnership approach and the social determinants of health.

WILMA operates from a feminist perspective, under a social model of health where service provision is based on principles of social justice and an understanding of a gendered approach to health.

Services comprise GP and women’s health nurse clinics, complementary therapies, counselling and health education, and partnerships enable legal advice. NSW Health Sydney Local Health District provide the main sources of funding, while partnership agreements, fee for service and bequests extend service delivery.

We are an Incorporated Association and registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) as a charity with Public Benevolent Institution status.

SELECTION CRITERIA – ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant demonstrated experience in a health or related community setting
2. Knowledge and experience of women’s health and service delivery within a feminist framework. Commitment to the advancement of women’s health, education and status
3. Strong management experience with a successful track record in service development, human resources management, policy development and implementation, quality improvement; and the ability to monitor and implement relevant industrial and legislative requirements including WHS and EEO
4. Demonstrable experience in profit and loss oversight and budget development
5. Well-developed communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills, including excellent written and oral skills
6. Proven ability to think and plan strategically, problem solve and to develop and maintain relationships with community and government stakeholders and external partners
7. Well-developed computer literacy along with social media experience
8. Understanding of community development and/or health promotion strategies in working with disadvantaged communities including culturally and linguistically diverse communities and/or Indigenous communities
9. Own vehicle and current driver’s licence
