Founded in 1989, Wintringham is a not-for-profit organisation that provides an extensive range of aged care, housing and related support services to men and women over the aged of 50 who come from a homeless or financially disadvantaged background. We employ over 800 staff and our Community Care programs see our employees assist our clients in their homes and in the community. The opportunity
An exciting new opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and tight-knit Management Team as the Residential Site Manager – Wirksworth (Bellerive) Tasmania
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- This is a Greenfield start-up role. As such the successful person will be offered extensive induction to Wintringham philosophy of care and support, to ensure Wintringham’s well established model of care is delivered in our new Wirksworth Home.
- Overview the completions of the building, furnishing and fine detail of our Wirksworth Home
- In conjunction with our People and Culture team coordinate the recruitment of staff
- In conjunction with our Quality team, coordinate the homes care support documentation
- Ensuring all service delivery is consistent with the policies and procedures of Wintringham, and meets the Standards for Aged Care Services and other statutory requirements.
- To promote a non-institutional philosophy within the Home by:
- Recognising and promoting the rights of residents;
- Encouraging residents to maintain and exercise control over decisions which affect their lives;
- Providing residents with an environment that offers a variety of options to assist ach resident to determine their own lifestyle and;
- Being a key support for residents complex behavioural needs
- Ensuring that Wintringham’s duty of care to both residents and staff is met at all times.
- Participating in management meetings and training sessions as required.
- Maximising the use of all resources available to the site ensuring that budgetary and Key Performance Targets are met.
- Providing leadership to staff and to ensure staff have the necessary skills and expertise to provide a quality service to residents.
- Providing effective financial management of the home.

What we will need from you:
- An approved qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Nursing or equivalent
- Previous management experience in Homelessness and or Aged Care sector
- Extensive knowledge of the current approaches in working with clients who exhibit complex behaviours
- Knowledge of Commonwealth and State Government policies, standards and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with and empower employees within their roles
- Experience in a management/supervisor role in Aged Care
- Ability to be on-call out of hours on rotating roster
- Excellent communication skills
- Current drivers license
- A non-judgmental approach with the ability to work with people from varying socio-economic backgrounds
- An understanding of the special needs of older people
- Current CPR & First Aid
