ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of WIRES leadership team, the Head of Marketing and Fundraising is responsible for increasing WIRES national reach and impact for wildlife.

The role involves managing a diverse team and portfolio, encompassing all fundraising and marketing activities and campaigns, including corporate partnerships, philanthropy, bequests, regular giving, individual giving, digital marketing and social media.

Priorities of the role include increasing supporter income and engagement to facilitate the ongoing growth and delivery of WIRES wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, information and education services.

ABOUT YOU

With an extensive background in fundraising and marketing you are skilled at operating both strategically and tactically, capable of leading the team, and willing to work in a hands-on capacity to support project delivery.

You are excellent at multi-tasking and team management, and a great communicator. You also have a strong track record of successfully delivering revenue growth strategies and maximising return on investment.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Minimum 5 years relevant management experience across multiple programs, with a demonstrated track record of significantly growing fundraising revenue
  • Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated experience building engaged and collaborative teams
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management
  • Extensive skills in strategic planning and project management

ABOUT WIRES

WIRES is Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation, rescuing and caring for sick, injured and orphaned native animals for over 35 years. WIRES mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same.

WIRES operate a dedicated Wildlife Rescue Office assisting wildlife and the community across Australia 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, providing rescue advice and assistance for over 140,000 animals annually, as well as provide full-time mobile Wildlife Emergency Responders operating across Greater Sydney, South-East Queensland and Tasmania.

WIRES has actively been providing significant national support for hundreds of projects to assist with wildlife rescue and rehabilitation across Australia while also working nationally with major partners to support the long-term recovery of wildlife habitat and the long-term preservation of native species in the wild.

ROLE DETAILS

This role is a 12 month contract with the potential for extension.

The role is a hybrid position with time split between the Brookvale office and working from home. Ideally at least 2 days per week will be spent in the Brookvale office.
