GradWISE, in partnership with Victorian, NSW and ACT Universities, is a division of the WISE Employment that aims to provide expertise and support to university students, living with disabilities. About the role

The main purpose of this rare role is to support students that have identified as living with a physical or mental health condition or injury to build key skills and confidence that increases social and economic participation and lead to gainful employment at a graduate or an entry level.

As a Career Coach for GradWISE, your key responsibilities are to:

  • Coach and develop participants in relation to their future career potential
  • Create and implement a roadmap for each participant to assist in developing a portfolio. This may include mentoring, internships and other extracurricular activities
  • Utilise the neuroscience tools available to assess a participant's profile. This will include understanding their strengths, potential area's for development and the type of work they would be most suited to

This role will be primarily working from home, however it will also see you working across other WISE locations.

About you

It is fair to say that we are looking for a varied individual who is passionate about making a positive impact. The ideal candidate may have a background in psychology, counselling and/or human resources.

Specifically, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • A genuine want, need and passion to help and support individuals who have identified themselves as living with a mental and/or physical health condition
  • Experience in working closely with and coaching individuals to achieve sustainable careers. Ideally coaching individuals who identify as living with a physical or mental health condition
  • Supporting participants manage their individual vocational rehabilitation 'wellness' plan including identifying potential employment opportunities
  • The confidence to successfully engage and facilitate group workshops
  • Experience, exposure or a passion for recruitment and marketing would be ideal
  • The ability and skill to drive results through building strong relationships and having sound knowledge
  • Support in continuing to grow this program
  • Flexibility in hours worked is required and reasonable out of hours work may be required from time to time and to work in other locations where reasonable and necessary.
