About the program

Wesley Home Modifications and Maintenance Service has been supporting aged clients and those living with disability to remain independent in their own homes for in excess of 20 years.

About the role

Undertaking a range of general maintenance and minor modification tasks, you will be part of a team bringing renewed independence to those we serve. You will be skilled with hand and powered tools to undertake a range of tasks including installation of various assisted living aids, including but not limited to handrails and ramps.

The successful applicant will:

• have demonstrated experience undertaking general maintenance tasks
• be able to travel to various job sites to undertake their work
• understand Safe Work practices
• work to set timeframes to complete jobs in a timely and efficient manner
• be able to work with other Wesley staff on larger maintenance or modifications jobs
• complete necessary paperwork and electronic based reporting and recording of works
• be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs as well as the ability to use computerised devices.

Essential criteria

• demonstrated experience undertaking general maintenance tasks in a paid role
• skilled with hand and powered tools
• must deliver a high quality of work and customer service
• a current Class C (minimum) NSW Driver’s Licence
• ability to work to strict timeframes
• neat and tidy appearance
• ability to work as part of a team and individually and possess good communication skills.

Desirable criteria

• trades qualifications in Carpentry or a related field
• experienced in construction of access ramps
• enthusiastic approach to helping people in need.
