About the role

This exciting position entails supporting children and young people in foster care to achieve their educational potential. You would be working one to one with a range of students, providing school support and out of school tutoring. You will also be co-ordinating a team of educational mentors and offering direct support to case managers and foster carers.

Essential criteria

• Tertiary qualifications in Education
• Experience in working with children with behaviour difficulties
• Understanding of the educational needs of children in care
• Ability to work as a team with other professionals
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to drive throughout the region

Desirable criteria

• Qualifications in Special Education
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Experience in teaching children in care

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, with attractive salary packaging options.
