About the role
This position is an integral part of the Wesley Work Health & Safety Team. The purpose of the role is to oversee the implementation of Wesley Mission’s WH&S framework including workplace consultation, risk assessments, hazard identification, emergency management and contractor management.
As a specialist function, training and coaching of Line Managers will be required.
Essential criteria
- Degree in Work Health & Safety or equivalent
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a diverse organisation
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE)
- Experience in the implementation, maintenance and auditing of Work Health Safety Management Systems to meet Australian Standard 4801 Certification
- Knowledge of Australian Standard 4801 requirements
- Experience in conducting task analysis, risk assessments and incident investigations
- Strong commitment to Work Health & Safety
- Experience in asbestos and contractor management
- Experience with databases and online systems
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- High-level of report writing skills, attention to detail and analytical skills
- Experience in statistical analysis and reports
- Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, problem solving and influencing skills including capacity to deal with a range of stakeholders across varying levels within and external to the organisation
- Excellent time-management skills including the ability to balance competing priorities and meet strict deadlines whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Current and valid NSW driver’s licence
Desirable criteria
- Degree in Human Resources
- Experience working with Oracle PeopleSoft
- Not-for-profit or cause-related management experience
