About the opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Children’s Counsellor to join team based at the East Burwood Centre. The position is part time working two days per week, actual work days are negotiable. This is a maximum term role until February 2020 (parental leave replacement position). An ideal secondment opportunity for a Uniting social worker with experience in counselling.

The Children’s Counsellor will be responsible for:

  • Completing intake assessments of children ranging between the age of four to primary school age
  • Responding to presenting issues in children as referred by Family Services Practitioners, parents and other agencies
  • Providing counselling support and play therapy to referred children through

About you:

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Masters degree in Counselling, Family Therapy, Play Therapy or related areas.
