Women and Mentoring – WAM Limited is an early intervention, community-based crime prevention program for adult women who are being charged, or are likely to be charged, with a criminal offence. Volunteer mentors are recruited, trained and supervised to provide support for offending women within a designated local community.
The program currently works with women presenting at eight Magistrates’ Courts across metro and suburban Melbourne. It is funded by a combination of State Government funding, philanthropic grants, individual donations and in-kind support. With a funding increase in the 2022 State Budget, we are now expanding across all metro areas and into regional Victoria.
We are seeking a part-time Administration Support Officer to be a key support to our growing team. The key functions of the role include:
We are seeking someone with previous experience in an administrative role in a busy office environment. This role requires an understanding of the challenges of working with vulnerable women who are in the initial stages of contact with the criminal justice system.
The anticipated start date will be in early August 2022. We encourage applications from Indigenous people, and people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. A criminal history does not preclude you from applying for this role.
