Your Role
- Maintain timely and accurate financial and asset management systems.
- Prepare financial reports for the Finance Manager, management and the Board.
- Be a contributor to the identification, development and improvement of financial systems, practices and tools.
The Management Accountant supports the Finance Manager to undertake budgetary management through maintaining management reports, providing timely and accurate accounting information and by ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
Some of the key duties of the role include (but aren’t limited to) preparation of reports, budgets and forecasting; provide training and advice; reconciliations; data migration; and ad-hoc requests for support as required.
To be successful in this role you will need highly developed communication skills and an accounting degree with at least 5 years of experience in the preparation, analysis and interpretation of management reports and budgets. Our ideal candidate has advanced spreadsheeting and Microsoft Excel skills. Whilst experience working within a government funded organisation, not-for-profit sector or contracts environment is not essential, it is highly regarded.
This position is full time and is funded until June 2024.Future employment is subject to ongoing funding.
Location: Penrith LGA
Remuneration: From $83,943 to $86,882* (potential maximum grossed up salary equivalent $93,714 - $96,653**)
*Dependant on skills and experience
**Based on NFP salary packaging tax benefits (which may be subject to criteria)
Selection Criteria:
Essential
- Accounting Degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of accounting including preparation, analysis and interpretation of accurate management reports and budgets.
- Advanced spreadsheeting and Microsoft Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to document processes and implement improvements.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to liaise with a range of people from diverse organisation and professional levels within established parameters including the ability to work effectively in a team.
Desirable
- Experience working within a government funded organisation, the not-for-profit sector or within a contracts environment.
- CPA or CA qualification.
