About the Role
- Full Time (38 hours/week)
- Permanent role
- Located at West Ryde office
The Private Rental Specialist (PRBS) will provide financial and practical assistance to establish and maintain private rental tenancies for people who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness by developing and maintaining strong relationships with real estates, landlords and support partners. This role requires a high level of client engagement to assess and resolve clients’ housing needs while delivering a suite of private rental products.
Key accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Create and maintain a database of all stakeholder details and referral points
- Proactively seek partnerships with support partners to source additional brokerage funds
- Develop and maintain partnerships in both the service sector and private rental market
- Provide expert housing advice to clients who are not eligible for Pathway’s assistance
- Make appropriate referrals to internal and external parties to support clients’ needs
- Act as point of contact and escalation for any complex cases identified by the Access and Demand officers
- Support team members to assess, identify and deliver housing options to assist and resolve client’s needs
- Attend and be an active member of all relevant interagency network meetings that will maximise opportunity for collaboration within the service sector
We are looking for:
We are looking for someone who is driven and proactive, enjoys building and nurturing relationships for clients who are at risk of homelessness.
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience knowledge of the community housing framework.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work cooperatively within a team.
- A demonstrated understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness and a commitment to working with people who are disadvantaged, Aboriginal people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds within the community.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Case management skills to assess, inform, advice, support and refer clients.
- Ability to network, build and maintain relationships with real estate agents and landlords.
- Ability to work under pressure by organising and prioritising workloads and applying contemporary problem-solving techniques through effective case management.
- A current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- A full Australian Government approved COVID-19 vaccination including approved booster, and willingness to produce medical certification showing, to Link Wentworth’s reasonable satisfaction, that you have had (and when you have had) each vaccination and/or booster.

- A National Police Check less than six (6) months old, or willingness to obtain one
