About us

The Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation ICN 9604 (Whadjuk AC) is a the native title service provider to the Noongar people, the traditional owners of the southwest of Western Australia. We work to progress the resolution of native title claims, while also advancing and strengthening Noongar culture, language, heritage, and society.

The opportunity

The Whadjuk AC has an important role in the South West Native Title Settlement (The Settlement) with the Western Australian (WA) government. The settlement resolves all native title claims in the southwest of the state in exchange for around $1.3 billion in land and other benefits for the Noongar people.

The role

As the Executive Assistant, you will provide governance, executive and logistical support to the CEO, Board and key committees.

Key details of the position are:

  • Full time position
  • Annual salary between $79,887 – $89,862 depending on skills and experience + superannuation
  • Location – to be advised (office location currently been sought)

You will:

  1. Draft and finalise communications to internal and external stakeholders for CEO, Board and Cultural Advice Committee (CAC).
  2. Ensure that all key CEO, Board and CAC incoming and outgoing communications are captured in the document management system.
  3. Maintain a Register of matters referred to and from the CAC, and record CAC and Board decisions in the Register, in accordance with agreed protocols.
  4. Provide high level administrative support to the CEO, Board and CAC including assistance with the production of Reports and Presentations, organisation of meetings etc.
  5. Work with the CEO and Committee Chairs in relation to organising meeting Notices, meeting Agenda, meeting timing, location etc.
  6. Take accurate minutes of meetings and ensure that required actions are recorded and distributed, along with the minutes in the required time frame.
  7. Ensure that strict standards are maintained in relation to confidential and private information.
  8. Liaise with the CSC in relation to ensuring that agreed procedures associated with the CSC Services Agreement are followed by both the CSC and the Corporation.
  9. Participate in CSC training and user groups as required.
  10. Assist the CEO, Board and committees in relation to ensuring Rule Book, Election Manual, CAC/Board protocol and ILUA compliances.

To be successful, you need to demonstrate:

  1. High level of IT skills in Outlook, Word, MS Teams and PowerPoint.
  2. Demonstrated experience in taking minutes, developing agendas and arranging meetings.
  3. Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  4. Strong initiative and problem-solving ability.
  5. An appropriate level of knowledge of the Noongar community and its aspirations.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially in a cross-cultural context.
  7. Strong commitment to the development and advancement of the Noongar Community.
