Position Rationale
This is a new position established to support Finance Manager due to the growth of the organisation resulting in increased payroll, project reporting and acquittals and day to day operations.
Accountability
This position will report to the Finance Manager who will provide support and supervision. This position is subject to a three-month probationary period.
Overview of Duties
- Collection of timesheets and process payroll with support from Finance Manager
- Process accounts payable/receivable, staff reimbursements, petty cash
- Raise invoices for grants and service generated income
- Banking (cheques and transport donations)
- Process monthly BAS for ATO
- Meet compliance requirements (for example ACNC, Workcover, and Portable Long Service Leave Authority)
- Reconciliation of bank accounts
- Maintain funding agreements schedule
- Support the Finance Manager with funding acquittals
- Prepare financial reports for Board of Management
- Support the Finance Manager with preparation for annual audit
- Maintain staff personnel records, including employment contracts and performance reviews
- Other duties as directed by CEO and Finance Manager.
Key Selection Criteria ‐ Essential
- Qualification or equivalent experience in administration, accounting or finance
- Minimum two years in a payroll or accounts related role
- Good working knowledge of MYOB
- High standard of interpersonal skills including effective communication, verbal and written skills
- Ability to work independently and take direction and build good working relationships with other staff and Managers
- Maintain high level of confidentiality
- Demonstrated capacity for accuracy and high level of attention to detail
Key Selection Criteria ‐ Desirable
- Experience working or volunteering in a community based setting or community organisation
Salary and Conditions
- Conditions will be in accordance with the Social, Community, Home and Disability Services (SCHADS) Industry Award 2010, Level 4, paypoint 1 $39.26 p/h plus 10.5% superannuation
- This position is offered as a part-time position of 22.80 hours per week (3 days per week).
- This is a fixed‐term contract for 2 years from appointment.
- WCC’s tax exempt status allows generous additional tax benefits through salary packaging, which can significantly increase the net value of the remuneration. The successful applicant will be required to enter into an employment contract.
- The successful applicant will be need to have a current National Police Check and Working With Child Check.
- Work from home may be required to respond to health related restrictions.
- WCC operates a flexible workplace and time-in-lieu is included in the employment agreement.
