Woomera Aboriginal Corporation is a community based not-for-profit organisation founded in 1990 that offers a range of housing, early education, out of home care and targeted early intervention services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in Albury and surrounds. We are registered with the Office of the Registration of Indigenous Corporation (ORIC) under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (CATSI Act).

The role

Paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) Level 5 - pay point 1, SCHADS and under the direction of the Team Leader Permanency Support Program, the Case Manager will assist in identifying, establishing and supporting placements for children and young people who are clients of the service in the Albury and the surrounding region and provide support to the clients and their carers in accordance with Woomera Aboriginal Corporations’ policies and procedures and statutory and legislative requirements.

ABOUT YOU

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Cert IV or Diploma in Community Services OR extensive demonstrated experience in welfare and child protection areas
  • Experience working within Aboriginal communities and an understanding of Aboriginal culture
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Good organisational skills, able to multi-task and prioritise
  • Ability to work in a team, follow direction and learn, is motivated to take on challenges with minimal direction
  • Working knowledge of the Child and Young Persons Care and Protection Act NSW (1998) and its amendments
  • Hands-on experience working with data base systems, especially case management applications
  • A current satisfactory Working with Children’s Check
  • A current satisfactory National Police Check
  • A current driver’s licence
  • Evidence of COVID Vaccinations
