Unison is a not-for-profit organisation that works to reduce disadvantage and social exclusion. We believe that affordable housing is the foundation on which to build a life of value but that a good life takes more than just housing. A good life takes place in a community. Unison also assists over 3,500 people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness each year across Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, Geelong and Werribee.
Our Private Rental Access Program (PRAP) Team make their impact by working directly with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to support them into private rental accommodation. As a PRAP Worker, you’ll be helping people by supporting and advocating their access to the private rental market, support services and financial assistance.
If you are someone who is an empathetic and calm communicator, resilient and who people tend to look to in a crisis, we’d love to hear from you. You are driven to help others and have an ability to look beyond challenging words and behaviours to get to the root of a problem in a way that leaves people feeling supported and listened after their experience with Unison.
You may already bring knowledge of the social housing sector to hit the ground running in this role, or you may instead have life experience or an ability to quickly learn that is equally aligned to Unison’s mission.
By working with us you’ll have access to rostered days off, generous salary packaging, five weeks of annual leave with 17.5% leave loading, 15 days of personal leave, employer paid parental leave and robust wellbeing and capability programs as part of Unison’s commitment to being a leading employer of choice.
Full-time, fixed term role until December 2024.
