About the role

Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, you will work closely with the Executive team to drive people related strategies and operational HR advice. This role will be pivotal in guiding Unison in the next stages of employee development. This position will require you to work with coworkers and focus on supporting Unison to implement a strategic approach to human resources operational functions and developments that positively influence Unison's profile, culture and overall performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes;
  • Provide advice on and assist management with employee/industrial relations issues;
  • Establish and implement Unison’s employee training program;
  • Implement the OHS management system and ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Be in consultation with relevant managers, manage all aspects of the recruitment, on-boarding and off-boarding of employees, including advertising, collating and distributing applications to managers, organising interviews, inducting new recruits and conducting exit interviews.
  • Provide Knowledge and expertise in HR strategy and workforce development
  • Continually identify employee training needs based on legislative, regulatory and contractual requirements and internal needs.
  • Manage the implementation of new HR and OHS policies, procedures and related documentation, including consultation with employees as required by law and preparation of communication materials to managers and employees

About you

  • 3+ years’ experience in a Generalist HR role (Experience within the non-profit community sector(desirable).
  • Tertiary qualification in HR
  • Proven experience in workplace relations, including the ability to interpret awards, agreements and contracts, complemented by a thorough understanding of current employment legislation
  • Ability to show initiative, be a self-starter and work autonomously
  • Be able to liaise professionally and confidently with stakeholders
  • High regard for confidentiality and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Advanced computer skills in all Microsoft programs
  • Extremely high attention to detail

On Offer

  • Ongoing, Full-time position
  • Annual Remuneration package of $90,437 (including super, salary packaging and annual leave loading)
  • 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% annual leave loading
  • Salary packaging of up to $15,900 tax free
  • Supportive working arrangements
