Childcare Coordinator - Before & After School Care

YMCA NSW
  • Full time position at St Mary's Public School
  • Supportive Manager with plenty of OSHC experience & knowledge
  • Split shifts - flexible to use your time in the day

Y NSW are now looking for a driven Childcare Coordinator to come and lead the team at our Before & After School Care service in St Mary's between the hours of 6:30AM - 9:30AM as well as 2:00PM - 6:00PM. Monday - Friday.

Our Out-of-School-Hours Coordinators are the organisational gurus that make sure our OSHC services are safe, effective – and always fun. Acting as both facilitator and role-model to young students from over 60 NSW schools, they design and maintain inclusive, welcoming and engaging spaces through our Before School, After School and Vacation Care services. As a member of our OSHC family, you’ll be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of developing young minds, while drawing on your leadership experience to support and guide our team of OSHC Educators. You’ll also work closely with the children, and their parents and schools, to ensure they’re set up for growth and success.

This isn’t your typical 9-5 role (they don’t call it Out of School Hours for nothing) – and if you bring the dedication, focus and commitment, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of a career in education, where you can build a schedule that works for you. So if you’re excited by the opportunity of a promising career creating meaningful opportunities for young people who need them, you’ll almost certainly learn a thing or two yourself.

About your new role:

Reporting to the Children Services Manager, you will provide leadership and a fun engaging interactive and most importantly SAFE environment to a team of Educators and the primary school age children that attend the service.

You can expect to have adequate resources to deliver the highest quality of service to the kids we have in our care and their parents. You will continue the Stakeholder relationship with the Principal of the school.

Having a workforce planner doing your rosters for you will give you more time back to focus on the daily running of the centre and creating a quality program.

What else is involved:

  • Programming for the service, crafts and activities
  • Approx 8 hrs Admin time during the week
  • Easy to navigate QikkKids software for rolls and bookings (We have a Team that does this for you)
  • Liaise with families, bring a sense of community and improve on quality
  • Vacation Care Service during the School Holiday period

Qualifications:

  • A Diploma in Children's Services, or equivalent
  • CHCPRT001 accreditation - ‘Identify and respond to children and young people at risk’
  • HLTAID004 accreditation- ‘Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting’
  • Working with Children Check
  • Police Check (paid for by the Y)

Y work with us?

  • Work within a supportive team environment
  • Room to learn and develop within the organisation
  • Flexible hours and arrangements for a work-life balance that works for you
  • Awesome discounts on The Y services and products
  • Ability to make in impact in your local community
