About the Role

The Governance Officer is a high-level governance, administrative and compliance support role in the Governance team of YMCA Victoria’s Shared Services. Reporting to the Executive Manager, Governance this role is responsible for contributing to and supporting the timely and effective delivery of significant governance requirements for the YMCA Victoria Group (including all subsidiaries).

The Governance Officer works autonomously under broad to strategic direction in relation to work priorities and practices and is able to apply high-level knowledge in these areas to conceptualise, design, review and develop systems and procedures. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Company Secretary and Governance Specialist in the preparation and conduct of governance meetings and meeting their obligations
  • Supporting the Company Secretary in the delivery of significant governance, compliance and legislative activities as required
  • Maintaining statutory records and registers, document retention, record keeping and reporting requirements (both internal and external
  • Developing and implementing corporate governance processes and knowledge management systems to improve organisational efficiency

The position holds a part time status of 3 days per week or 0.6 Full Time Equivalent.

Salary for this position is $69,552 (pro rata) excl super.

About You

You will have a demonstrated ability to manage workloads & prioritisation of duties in previous positions. Excellent written and editing skills are required to assist with the preparation of presentations, correspondence, reports, PowerPoints, teleconference, webinars, submissions/tenders including coordinating contributions, typing and editing etc.

Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, SharePoint and touch typing capability are essential.
