ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Manager – Social Impact & Evaluation, you will lead and support the Sector in a phased rollout of the sector level Measurement, Evaluation and Learning framework, over 2021- 2024. This will include capability building of staff, specialist support to key business units and implementation of data systems that will be needed to ensure a successful implementation.

Together with the social impact and evaluation team, you will support the ongoing development, implementation and continuous improvement of a whole of Social Impact Measurement (SIM) strategy, including collecting data against the “Y five outcomes” and supporting the development of organisational policies, practices and standards, to ensure a coordinated and best practice culture in social impact measurement.

This position is being offered on a full-time fixed-term basis until 2024. Work flexibly, blending your time working from home with regular days in the office (Carlton). You’ll also have regular visits to our Metro and regional sites.

ABOUT YOU

You will have demonstrated extensive experience leading MEL of programs and projects in the not for profit sectors and ideally will have the following skills:

  • Strong demonstrated ability in building organisational evaluation culture, including building the capacity of staff at all levels in the use of monitoring and evaluation approaches, with experience in organisational change, coaching, facilitation and the delivery of hands-on practical training in evaluation
  • Extensive knowledge of MEL theories and methods, and program logic/ theory of change and related approaches, including practical and adaptable methods, for use in busy and dynamic service delivery organisations
  • Demonstrated experience in using qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis and writing visual and engaging evaluation reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in working as part of high performing team in the social impact space
  • Demonstrated experience of partnership and relationship building with universities and key academics
  • Computer literacy and prior experience using a range of office software including Word, Excel and Teams and digital MEL methods

QUALIFICATIONS & LICENCES

  • Tertiary qualification in Social work, Human service, Public health or related discipline.
  • Qualifications in an area related to YMCA Business Units work, such as public health, education or social sector.
  • A post-graduate qualification in evaluation or relevant research subject, and/or equivalent experience in conducting evaluations.
  • At least 5 years' experience working as an evaluator.
  • A demonstrated ability to write successful funding proposals and excellent Impact / Evaluation reports.
  • Current Full Victorian Drivers Licence
