ABOUT THE ROLE

The Program Coordinator (Stronger Communities for Children) works closely with the Atyenhenge Atherre Aboriginal Corporation (AAAC) management team to manage the Stronger Communities for Children Program funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency. AAAC has had the privilege to manage this program on behalf of the community for the past 12 years; you will help ensure the community has access to interesting new activities, and the continuation of many successful tried and tested activities funded through this program.

You will be responsible for the good management of this and other related community programs, and work closely with the community and stakeholders to ensure the programs are meeting the needs of our families and children. This community led program is exciting in its scope, delivering culturally appropriate activities, sharing experiences with other communities, and supporting development within Ltyentye Apurte.

ABOUT YOU

As a key member of the AAAC management team you will drive this program, supported by management, the board, and the community. You will support the development and implementation of the annual Ltyentye Apurte SCfC Community Plan, managing some activities yourself together with your team, and subcontracting other activities. You will support the community-led local Decision Making Group, ensure good communication about the activities, liaise with other stakeholders in the community and also with other communities who run similar programs

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our community is motivated and keen to improve the lives of community members; we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic to work with us to do everything we can to fulfill the vision of the Ltyentye Apurte Community.

We are looking for someone who has experience working successfully in Aboriginal Communities; if you have the knowledge, skills and experience working in community development; if you have experience in working with a variety of stakeholders, the ability to land and deliver programs, and proven management skills then this is the role for you. Ideally you will have a degree in community or international development, youth work, anthropology or other relevant qualifications and/or experience.
