About the role

Permanent part time (4 days/week) opportunity based in North Ryde, NSW, or Perth, WA.

Reporting directly to the National Manager Connecting Peers Program you will be responsible for:

  • Building collaborative relationships with people living with dementia and carers.
  • Managing induction and onboarding of program participants in line with Program Guidelines.
  • Reviewing matching criteria to provide suitable 1:1 connections between Peer Leaders and Peer Participants.
  • Facilitating opportunities for individual and group reflection and learning.
  • Documenting and reporting all aspects of service delivery according to specified procedures.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following:

  • An understanding of Peer Support and its potential to normalise and validate lived experience, while reducing social isolation and increasing wellbeing.
  • Knowledge or experience of the impact of dementia for individuals and carers.
  • High level verbal and written communications skills and an appreciation of the role of active listening and empathy in relationship building.
  • Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritise competing demands and multi-task.
  • Proficiency in business software applications, including custom client management systems, Microsoft Office, MS Teams and/or Zoom, and the ability to record client interactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • A relevant qualification in a health-related field and/or significant experience working with clients in the delivery of community-based services.
