A’Bell Planning and Support Services (APASS) is seeking an accredited and registered Occupational Therapist for our Allied Health Professional team who are involved in primary/clinical care services. This position is suitable for either an experienced Occupational Therapist or a new graduate.

A’Bell Planning and Support Services (APASS) is a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) registered provider in Bundaberg, Australia. APASS is a Business to Consumer (B2C) company providing services of Support Coordination, community nursing – Diabetes Nurse Educator, Social Worker and Occupational Therapy with a renewed focus to also include other Allied Health Professionals including Speech Language Pathologists. APASS is significantly influenced by the end-consumer in a person centric model of service delivery. DUTIES:

Primary Objective:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing community based occupational therapy interventions for a wide range of client groups including those receiving:

  • Private Fee for Service Clients
  • National Disability Insurance Services Funding

Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Home based occupational therapy assessments including all areas of activities of daily living, mobility, and home safety.
  • Client assessment, intervention and report writing.
  • Equipment applications for government equipment programs.
  • Minor and major home modification recommendations with relevant diagrams.
  • Communicating assessed needs clearly and precisely to clients.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant degree with substantial experience.
  • Registered Occupational Therapist with Occupational Therapy Board and AHPRA (and ability to maintain registration).
  • Current C class Driver’s license (QLD)

Core Competencies:

  • Ability to assess client needs and develop appropriate plans for interventions and equipment for clients
  • Develop and provide reports relevant to the role
  • Implement recommendations
  • Professionally work with internal and external stakeholders to meet client needs

THE ROLE:

This is a crucial role that will include the organisation of specialist care in accordance with the NDIA guidelines. This position is open to all applicants seeking full time, part time or casual employment.
