About Us

Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (KNAC) is the registered native title body corporate for the Nyiyaparli People with approximately 400 current members.

The Nyiyaparli People are the Traditional Owners of approximately 36,684 square kilometres of land and waters in the east Pilbara region, including the Aboriginal communities of Jigalong and Parnpajinya, several pastoral leases and significant mining operations. Locations within the Determination Area are places of particular significance to the Nyiyaparli people, including ceremonial sites, songlines, permanent pools and natural resources.

About the Role

The Executive Assistant will provide confidential, high-level support to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and act as Board Secretariat, ensuring the seamless coordination of executive operations. The role requires strong administrative and organisational skills, high levels of professionalism, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.

Key responsibilities include managing the CEO’s schedule, coordinating Board meetings and corporate governance activities, handling high-level correspondence, and liaising with stakeholders to support the organisation’s strategic objectives.

This role is based in our South Hedland office and is not available for remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the CEO, including managing communications and correspondence.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, conferences, and travel arrangements.
  • Assist with Board Secretariat duties, including the preparation and distribution of meeting papers and logistics.
  • Manage and organise corporate records, reports, and documentation.
  • Ensure confidential handling of sensitive information and uphold corporate governance standards.
  • Act as a liaison between the CEO, Board, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Support corporate and community initiatives as directed.
  • Contribute to operational efficiency, ensuring deadlines and priorities are met.

About You

We are seeking a professional, proactive, and highly organised individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and can manage competing priorities with ease.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in executive support, administration, or governance roles.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Certificate III or IV in Business Administration or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • National Police Check
  • Current Drivers Licence

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience in board meeting coordination and minute-taking.
  • Experience working with Indigenous organisations or community programs.
  • Understanding of Nyiyaparli culture, governance, and community engagement.
