Join a Role That Connects Country, Culture, and Community

Are you highly organised, passionate about culture, and thrive in a dynamic environment? This is your opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the protection and preservation of one of Western Australia’s most significant cultural landscapes.

Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation (KNAC) is seeking a committed Heritage Services Logistics Officer to join our dedicated team. Based in either South Hedland or Newman, you’ll support the day-to-day coordination of cultural heritage fieldwork that makes a real difference on-Country.

About Us

Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (KNAC) is the registered native title body corporate for the Nyiyaparli People, the Traditional Owners of over 36,000 square kilometres in the east Pilbara — home to rich songlines, sacred sites, and deep cultural history.
We work to protect our heritage while partnering with proponents, Traditional Owners, and community members to ensure respectful, culturally-informed outcomes across our lands.

Your New Role

As our Heritage Services Logistics Officer, you’ll be the engine room behind the scenes, organising travel, scheduling fieldwork, and supporting KNAC representatives in getting safely to Country.

Working closely with the Heritage Services Implementation Coordinator, you'll:

  • Coordinate travel bookings, medicals, and PPE for field-based representatives
  • Schedule and support heritage surveys and cultural monitoring activities
  • Liaise with consultants, proponents, and KNAC staff to ensure seamless engagement
  • Assist with onboarding, documentation, and WHS compliance
  • Support Welcome to Country ceremonies and community representation
  • Manage admin tasks such as receipts, acquittals, and engagement records

What You’ll Bring

We're looking for someone with a mix of initiative, people skills, and logistical smarts, someone who can think on their feet and help us deliver respectful and well-organised heritage services.

Essential:

  • Prior experience in logistics, scheduling, or admin coordination
  • Confidence liaising with Traditional Owners, consultants, and other stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle competing priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and administrative tools
  • Understanding of WH&S principles and duty of care
  • Driver’s Licence and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Aboriginal organisations or on heritage-related projects
  • Familiarity with the Pilbara region or Nyiyaparli Country
  • First Aid Certificate

What’s In It for You?

At KNAC, you’re not just taking a job — you’re joining a purpose-led team where Country, culture, and community are at the heart of everything we do.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary and super
  • Salary packaging options
  • Professional development allowance (after probation)
  • Uniform, laptop, mobile phone provided
  • Additional leave benefits for remote-based team members
  • A culturally connected and values-driven workplace
