<p>We are a registered charitable organisation, otherwise known as an Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) providing employment services for people with disabilities, whilst also providing commercial business services for major customers.</p>

<h3>&nbsp;The Opportunity</h3>
<p>We currently have an opportunity for an experienced and motivated Safety Practitioner to join the team as a Safety &amp; Training Coordinator.</p>
<p>The role reports to the HR &amp; WHS Manager and supports the Production Manager and operations at Access Industries Hamilton site.</p>
<p>The Safety &amp; Training Coordinator is responsible for providing advice and guidance to foster a positive WHS culture enabling Access Industries to meet its obligations to provide a safe&nbsp;working environment&nbsp;whilst managing risk. &nbsp;</p>
<p>The role&nbsp;supports&nbsp;the effective monitoring, implementation and maintenance of the WHS Management System&nbsp;and serves as&nbsp;the designated &lsquo;return to work&rsquo; coordinator.</p>
<h3>About the role:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Provide guidance, advice and support to managers and employees on WHS matters.</li>
<li>Undertake regular workplace inspections, complete risk assessments and recommend preventative strategies.</li>
<li>Lead and close out hazards, incidents and near miss investigations supported by appropriate corrective and preventative actions.</li>
<li>Conduct training needs analysis to inform site specific training.</li>
<li>Coordinate and implement local and enterprise safety programs to increase safe working practices and promote safety consciousness.</li>
<li>Conduct regular fire evacuation and safety drills.</li>
<li>Monitor and review load restraints and traffic management procedures.</li>
<li>Develop safety toolbox talks</li>
<li>Monitor and provide strategies in areas of noise and dust control to maintain a safe work environment.</li>
<li>As the &lsquo;Return to Work Coordinator&rsquo; contribute to the reduction of workers compensation premiums by assisting managers and employees and facilitate early return to work.</li>
<li>Analyse WH&amp;S statistics, provide insights and prepare associated reports.</li>
</ul>
<h3>About you:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Relevant WHS qualifications or equivalent experience</li>
<li>Return to work qualification or commitment to obtaining</li>
<li>Sound and current knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and guidelines</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in training needs analysis and facilitation of training.</li>
<li>Current first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)</li>
<li>Experience managing workers compensation, injury management and return to work coordination.</li>
<li>Experience implementing WHS management system</li>
<li>Able to work and contribute within a diverse team and respect differences.</li>
<li>Customer and stakeholder focussed, attention to detail and results oriented.&nbsp;</li>
