The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) is a not-for-profit organisation responsible for the training, assessment and continuing professional development of emergency physicians as well as the advancement of professional standards in emergency medicine in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Position

The Accreditation Lead serves as the College’s representative for accreditation inspections related to Fellowship training in Emergency Departments and Special Skills Placements. Reporting to the Accreditation Manager, the successful candidate will manage administrative duties, liaise with hospital sites, attend inspections, draft reports, and handle outcome management to ensure compliance with accreditation guidelines and regulations.

The successful candidate will attend virtual and on-site inspections, build and maintain relationships with hospital sites, and provide clear, accurate accreditation information as well as administering Pre and post-inspection tasks including drafting reports, managing outcomes, coordinating committee voting, and overseeing quality improvement processes.

Your analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential in this role, particularly when reviewing accreditation applications, survey responses, application of accreditation requirements, developing resources for inspectors, maintaining data integrity, and assisting in guidelines and policy updates.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in education, training, or regulatory/compliance environment.
  • Confident and mature outlook with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
  • Well developed administrative and organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • A commitment to high quality service and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Familiarity with Moodle and survey tools.
  • Experience in healthcare, medical education or member-based sectors are highly desirable.

This is a full-time position based in Melbourne, Victoria with opportunities to travel interstate and to New Zealand.
