Who is the ACF?

We’re the Australian Conservation Foundation, Australia’s national environment organisation.

Since 1965, we’ve protected the air we breathe, the water we drink and the places we love. Driven by the power of people, we won World Heritage listing for the Great Barrier Reef and Kakadu National Park; we secured the $10 billion national clean energy bank and we returned precious water to the rivers of the Murray-Darling.

We influence governments and businesses to protect the animals, rivers and reefs close to our hearts and hold decision-makers to account without fear or favour. Everything we do is evidence-based and helps nature and people thrive for generations to come.

We won’t give up until Australia’s nature is protected and regenerated.

What’s the role?

Reporting to the Campaigns Project Manager, your role will be to provide high level administrative, operation and project specific support to the Director of Campaigns and the Director of Engagement. We’re a high impact organisation working on a wide range of projects so you can expect variety in your work, and you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate and learn from people across multiple teams.

You’ll provide support to the Director of Campaigns and Director of Engagement by managing their calendars, supporting them with meeting preparation and ensuring they’re supporting their teams. You’ll also organise team events and workshops, assist in the delivery of campaign tactics and support our Project Managers in their work to continuously improve our collaboration and effectiveness so we can continue to speak out and show up for nature.

If you like variety in your work, are a fan of our unique flora and fauna, and are keen to learn about how campaigns are delivered, this is the role for you!

About you!

You’re looking to get exposure to how effective campaigns and engagement happen, and you have a great eye for detail and keeping systems running effectively. You’re a problem-solver, calm in a crisis and known as the type of person who gets things done.

You have had experience (in a volunteer or paid capacity) working in campaigns, engagement or communications and you demonstrate strong administration skills including the ability to synthesise discussions into clear actions and timelines. You are skilled in MS Suite, and experience with CRM’s and project management tools would be beneficial.

You’re a natural relationship builder who prides themselves on positive and professional interactions with all stakeholders. You know how to build trust and rapport quickly and can confidently communicate with people from a range of different backgrounds and levels of seniority, from colleagues and community members through to board members and government representatives.

Finally, you love nature and you’re excited to further develop your skills while supporting the amazing work ACF is doing to stand up for a world where forests, oceans, rivers, wildlife and people thrive.

If this sounds like the step up you have been looking for, we want to hear from you!
