About the role

The Data and Technology team seeks to empower ACSO's business units to deliver high quality, life-changing services using digital, data and ICT services and technology, and enable ACSO to influence public policy through data and analytics.

The Information Security Officer plays an important role in protecting ACSO's information assets. As well as supporting the ongoing security infrastructure, the position will contribute to a range of projects to plan, deliver and implement new and updated technology, policies, and guidance to support ACSO staff to operate safely and maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of critical information assets.

What we're looking for

  • Relevant tertiary degree or certification (e.g., Grad Cert in Cybersecurity, Bachelor of IT (Cybersecurity))
  • Relevant industry certification, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Cloud Security Professional, Certified Information Professional, Azure Information Protection Specialist
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience using security technologies to establish and maintain defences, and monitor and report on threats and incidents, for example ActiveDirectory, Defender, InTune, EntraID, Sentinel, Compliance Center, Meraki firewall
  • Experience responding to incidents, analysing and investigating the cause and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience contributing to policy development, including drafting policy and standards, and response plans
  • Experience providing training and support; developing training materials
  • Exemplary communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High level of analytical skills with the capacity to think both strategically and tactically
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation/interpersonal skills
