About the role

ACSO's Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing (WHSW) Partner resources the successful implementation and ongoing improvement of ACSO's Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Management System. The WHS Partner provides specialist guidance and support to team members and leadership to support the development of a healthy and safe work environment to reduce, mitigate and eliminate risk. They develop, implement and oversee WHS audits and manage relationships with WHS regulators and inspectors. The WHS Partner will also provide expert and administrative support to the WHS Steering Committee.

The WHS Partner works closely with the WHS Advisor, the Quality and Risk Manager, and the wider People and Culture team to engage with everyone across all our programs, hubs, houses and states. Given this, the successful candidate must be willing to travel intrastate and interstate as needed.

What we're looking for

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in workplace health and safety field or relevant area of study
  • Extensive breadth of understanding of multiple workplace hazards and the detailed principles of their identification and analysis, along with a detailed understanding of all principles of work health and safety risk management and their application in a complex diverse setting
  • Detailed knowledge of all legal processes for WHS compliance, workers compensation law and common law liability, along with a detailed knowledge and understanding of emergency and critical management principles as they apply in a large institution
  • Demonstrated success of implementing WHS initiatives utilising effective change principles and practices
  • Proven ability to build quick and strong rapport with stakeholders, both internal and external.

  • Hybrid of working from home (if desired) and our Richmond hub, pending government restrictions
  • $100,000 base salary + 10% superannuation ($110k approx. package) + NFP salary packaging options (more after tax $ in your pocket!)
