Clinical Practice is comprised of the School Psychology, Allied Health Service and Wellbeing in Schools teams. These teams employ a range of allied health professionals and support staff, including psychologists, social workers, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, senior youth workers and administration staff. In joining the team, you will have opportunity to undertake a range of direct social work roles across the Allied Health Service and Wellbeing in Schools team.
The Allied Health Service Social Work team are part of a multidisciplinary team who work directly and indirectly with children, young people, and their families to support engagement and participation in school. Social Workers deliver psychosocial interventions to students and families, and provide advice, consultation, and professional learning to schools to improve wellbeing and educational outcomes.
The WINS team delivers school-based social work services with a focus on providing services at the targeted, selected and universal interventions. The WINS team work closely with school staff to identify the needs of their students and work collaboratively to improve student attendance, engagement in learning and wellbeing outcomes. The WINS team works in partnership with community organisations to deliver psychosocial support for students and families, particularly those with complex and ongoing support needs.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with children and families and have a strong understanding of support options available in the ACT. They will be able to work independently and part of a team as well as have excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills. They will have the skills and capacity to impact positively on student outcomes through their delivery of psychosocial interventions in collaboration with students, families and the interprofessional team.

Notes: Part-time hours will be considered, and the salary noted above will be pro-rata. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
