ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking a part time Psychologist (0.8 FTE) to join our caring, compassionate and friendly Specialist Disability Support in Schools service (SDSS) team based in Caboolture/Morayfield/Minimbah until 31 December 2024.

Working in the Act for Kids Specialist Disability Support in Schools service (SDSS) in 1-2 North Coast Schools, to enhance access, participation and educational achievement for children and young people impacted by trauma, based on the existing Act for Kids practice framework.

Providing an outstanding therapeutic service to students, school personnel and care team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and work toward education based student goals, to enhance access, participation and success within the educational environment.
  • Provide service delivery within schools in the North Coast area of Caboolture, Morayfield and Minimbah.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings for the benefit of students and develop case plans in collaboration with school personnel.
  • Maintain up-to-date output and outcomes data for all students as required by Act for Kids policies and procedures.

ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (psychology).
  • Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy to children, young people and their families.
  • Clinical and therapeutic understanding of the impacts of trauma on child and family functioning and knowledge of current trauma treatment trends.
  • Ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of relevant child protection legislation and policy reforms.
  • A high level of cultural awareness and experience working with families from different backgrounds, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

ABOUT THE PAY

  • Position is classified Level 6.1 - 6.3 under the SCHCADS award;
  • Salary range is $96,970 - $101,251 plus superannuation (pro-rata for part-time);
  • In addition, as a registered Not for Profit/Charity, we offer excellent salary packaging options through RemServ which can significantly increase your take home pay.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Eligibility for a positive Working with Children Check and relevant positive NDIS Worker Screening Check in the applicable state of employment in Australia or exemption based on professional qualifications and registration.
  • Current driver’s licence.
  • Applicants must be eligible to legally work in Australia and proof of eligibility may be requested.
  • Fully vaccinated with the prescribed doses of an approved vaccine against COVID-19 or have an approved medical exemption.
