With over 25 centres nationally, we have supported thousands of children and their families for more than 30 years. In 2019 - 2020 we provided services to 44,894 people, including over 29,000 children.

About the model…

The Functional Family Therapy - Therapeutic Case Management (FFT-TCM) is a systematic, evidence-based treatment model for families delivered within their homes. FFT-TCM is a therapeutic case management model that helps families recognise how their interpersonal relationships affects their functioning as a family, and supports the family to learn skills that will help them navigate future challenges. Core to the model is a high level of clinical training and supervision to ensure delivery of the service is strictly in-line with the model guidelines and fidelity expectations are met.

About the role…

We are seeking a Therapist to join our team based on the Gold Coast. This position is full-time, fixed term to 31 December 2022. Extension of employment contract beyond December 2022 is subject to the continued successful government funding of the program.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure all the services delivered are achieving outcomes expected through the intentional delivery of the FFT-TCM model.
  • Attend team meetings, supervision, and coaching sessions to ensure practice meets fidelity standards. This includes participating in both formal and informal training sessions, and various other development and continuous improvement processes.
  • Complete systematic assessments of family needs using prescribed clinical measures.
  • Adhere to research protocols required for the evaluation of FFT-TCM model.
  • Ensure cultural safety within your practice to support good outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
  • Work collaboratively with families, team members and external stakeholders to meet the identified needs of the family.
  • Embrace inclusivity, respectfulness and professionalism at all times.

The role be required to successfully complete the required accreditation to deliver the model. All training, line supervision and external clinical supervision from an experienced FFT-TCM practitioner is organised and provided by the organisation.

About you...

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (psychology, allied health, social work, human services).
  • At least 2 years’ experience providing case-management and/or therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people and children in a child protection framework.
  • Ability to deliver family-focused sessions that include all family members, recognise the underpinning attitudes behind the presenting behaviours, and motivate the family to try new skills of interacting with one another.
  • Open attitude to feedback and the ability to integrate feedback from training and supervision into practice.
  • Understanding of how to communicate and work effectively with families from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

About the pay...

  • Position is classified Level 5.1 – 5.3 under the SCHCADS award;
  • Salary range is $82,781 - $86,530 plus 9.5% superannuation (pro-rata for part-time);
  • In addition, as a registered Not for Profit/Charity, we offer excellent salary packaging options through RemServ which can significantly increase your take home pay.
