Minister Rebecca Vassarotti, ACT Greens Member for Kurrajong, Minister for the Environment, Minister for Heritage, Minister for Homelessness and Housing Services, Minister for Sustainable Building and Construction.

Minister Rebecca Vassarotti is seeking an Office Manager for her Assembly office.

DUTIES

  • Providing high level administrative support to the Minister and the team
  • Providing first point of contact for the office, including telephone enquiries, and greeting visitors
  • Managing and responding to enquiries, emails, and correspondence
  • Managing and coordinating the Minister’s diary
  • Coordinating and managing a range of office processes with limited supervision
  • Liaising with constituents, MLA and Ministers’ offices, and other stakeholders
  • Supporting the Minister to fulfil her electorate responsibilities
  • Coordinating the Minister’s event and travel arrangements and coordinating travel arrangements for other staff as required
  • Working as part of a team committed to ecological sustainability, social justice, peace and non-violence and grassroots participatory democracy
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment and culture where all staff are valued and respected.
  • Other duties as directed.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  1. Strong office administration skills
  2. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal and relationship management skills
  3. Capacity to work independently, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  4. Experience or understanding of the ACT Government, parliamentary systems and/or the ACT political system would be an advantage.

This position will be available from August 2023.

The role is for the term of the 10th Assembly (ends November 2024). It is set at Adviser Level 1 (Lower) depending on experience, plus superannuation and loadings in lieu of overtime and Long Service Leave.

The successful candidate will be engaged under a Legislative Assembly Members’ Staff contract, and other terms and conditions of employment are governed by the ACT Legislative Assembly Members’ Staff Enterprise Agreement 2021 – 2022. It is not an ACT Public Service position.
