We work in the ACT and regional NSW, including the Capital Region, Murrumbidgee, Illawarra and Shoalhaven local health districts, and is  funded by the ACT, NSW and Commonwealth Governments.

ADACAS is highly regarded across the sector, is in a strong financial position and has been under a sustained period of growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a new Board members to support the organisation going forward.  You will be working with an experienced and well-established Board and CEO and a three-year Strategic Plan agreed in early 2024.

Board meetings are held bi-monthly at our office in Weston, ACT. The Board has two sub-committees: Governance; and Finance, Audit and Risk.

The Board seeks Applications from people with the skills, knowledge and expertise relevant to managing the affairs of the company and the achievement of our purpose. This includes people with lived experiences of disability, aged care and care giving and those with a good understanding of the disability and aged care sectors.

We welcome applications from community members with sound judgment and integrity who share ADACAS’ values and focus on human rights.  We value diversity of thought and experience and believe that our inclusive and collaborative culture contributes to our success. As ADACAS is an independent advocacy organisation, and to avoid any real or potential conflict of interest, applicants must not be employed by, or associated with (paid or unpaid) any disability or aged care provider.

Service on ADACAS’ Board of Directors is without remuneration, except for reimbursement of direct administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to Board Members’ duties. Financial support is also available for professional development activities. Appointments are for an initial three-year term.
