Around one in twenty Australians live with ADHD, and ADHDA is committed to enabling them to reach their full potential at every stage of life. We achieve this through advocacy, support, education, evidence-based research and ongoing work to support early intervention, the removal of barriers and reduced ADHD-related stigma.

Position Overview

The position of Deputy CEO, ADHD Australia Ltd is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the growth and impact of ADHD Australia as a national organisation.

Working with the CEO and Board to implement the strategic direction for ADHD Australia, you will assist the CEO to deliver the strategic objectives of the organisation working through stakeholder groups and volunteer staff. Key areas of focus include the leading the execution of the strategic plan with the CEO, and leading the funding and revenue efforts to help the organisation achieve its impact objectives.

This position would suit someone with senior leadership experience in not-for-profit organisations, government or private sector with demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining a trusted partner status with government, philanthropic organisations and industry.

Key Responsibilities

Execute the strategy in partnership with the CEO:

  • Execute the strategic plan, including key programs to achieve targets as agreed between the CEO and the Board.
  • Manage the ADHD Australia revenue and fundraising efforts and team to grow and scale the organisation’s impact.
  • Stakeholder Management - Support the CEO with national ADHD community and stakeholder engagement including nurturing new relationships to expand the ADHDA network and funding opportunities and supporting and growing the ADHD Australia volunteer base.

Performance Measures:

  • Delivery of the strategic plan.
  • Development and growth of strong relationships with funding and fundraising stakeholders.
  • Strong performance against key strategic objectives, including revenue objectives, risk, volunteers, stakeholders, and culture.

About You

  • Committed to and passionate about ADHD Australia’s mission and values
  • Experienced in multiple aspects of executive or general management
  • Understanding of the not-for-profit regulatory environment and can ensure compliance with all necessary laws
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including media experience
  • Substantial experience in successful stakeholder management including government and donors
  • Skilled in identifying and sourcing new streams of revenue and funding opportunities
  • Highly organised, motivated, and capable of bringing out the best in others in a volunteer context
  • Experienced in working cooperatively and productively with a CEO and Board of Directors
  • Willing to participate in a police check and hold, or obtain, a Working With Vulnerable People card
