Women’s Legal Service Victoria (Women’s Legal) has partnered with ARC Justice to deliver the Emerging Lawyer Program which will improve access to justice for victim-survivors of family violence.

The program is available to newly admitted lawyers, with less than 12 months practising experience.

The Emerging Lawyer Program concludes on 31 December 2025, however employment with ARC Justice is being offered on an ongoing basis.

About the Emerging Lawyer Program

Graduate lawyers will have the opportunity to work with experienced community lawyers who work in family violence and family law. Lawyers will undertake specialist training in Melbourne, online and in regional areas, alongside other lawyers, who like them are committed to gender equity.

About You

  • You will have an understanding of community legal centres, and the issues that affect our clients;
  • Be able to sensitively communicate with a diverse range of people whilst having understanding and empathy for their complex needs;
  • Have a strong academic record, with a demonstrated interest in the legal issues affecting our clients; and
  • Ability to travel (where required) for training and other activities as part of the program.
