The Baker Heart Diabetes Institute (BHDI) is Australia’s only medical research institute focused on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diabetes and heart disease.

The Gift in Wills team sits within the Community and Corporate Relations (CCR) Department which is responsible for raising revenue by engaging donors in our mission through regular giving, individual giving, gift in wills and major gifts.
The Gift in Wills Officer works within the Gift in Wills Team to build a sustainable gift in wills program by effectively prospecting, cultivating and soliciting Gift in Wills prospects, through the principles of fundraising moves.
As the Gift in Wills Officer you will be the friendly, first point of contact for all Gift in Wills enquiries. You will focus on soliciting Gift in Wills prospects to increase pipeline conversion and Gift in Wills income for BHDI. You will also steward BHDI’s passionate confirmed bequestors through phone-based engagement, direct mail, events and digital activities.

In this role you will be expected to:
We are seeking someone with a friendly and professional manner who can relate sensitively to people and engage with a mature audience. Ideally, you are skilled at managing donors in a customer relationship management (CRM) system and are highly skilled at performing a range of administrative tasks. You have great written and verbal communications skills, and you’ll be able to work effectively with a high degree of accountability, self-motivation and initiative.

Remuneration will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
