Agronomeye is an Australian AgTech company focused on developing agriculture's first high resolution digital twin. We are looking for an experienced GIS Lead to own the development of the core data layers that are necessary to create the digital infrastructure for a farm.

Agronomeye is a business focused on enabling sustainability without compromising production within the Ag sector. We have a collaborative research agreement with CSIRO whereby we are generating unique metrics for a farms environmental footprint, examples include:

• Water flow predictions: For more water use efficient practices (where to build dams, where the farm is at risk of erosion/water logging)
• Above ground vegetation: To determine carbon stocks and assess sustainability and biodiversity

By digitising farms we are creating a step change for the industry to practically engage in more environmentally friendly practices.

KEY DETAILS:

• Location: We’re a Sydney based company however a number of staff work remotely, there is an opportunity for the GIS lead to work from anywhere in Australia.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• High resolution remote sensing with a focus on:

  • Lidar

  • Photogrammetry

• Open source geospatial

• Agricultural experience/knowledge would be preferable

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Agronomeye’s GIS Lead will build upon the company's existing foundations to further develop agriculture's first digital twin. Building upon a product that is already in the market, with customers across the ag sector, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Refining internal processes

• Developing relationships with our data capture partners

• Enabling scalable solutions in Australia and overseas.

• Building a strong team to capture the opportunity

Given Agronmeye has established relationships with a number of research organisations, the successful candidate will be working at the cutting edge of high resolution remote sensing capabilities with a view to developing a range of useful and practical tools for farmers to use across their business.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

• Tertiary qualification in geographic information science, geography, environmental science, natural resource management, ecology, or an associated field and/or
• Education or professional experience in GIS analysis for environmental purposes.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

GIS experience:

• Demonstrated advanced experience with open source GIS software to process and analyse large scale high resolution data sets. QGIS, Post GIS, GDAL & Python
• Proven ability to manage large volumes of complex data layers across many projects.

Collaboration:

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate within the organisation as well as through various research bodies to produce innovative and
