The Victorian Greens are looking for an organised and friendly Member Support Coordinator to run our office and support our members. In this role, you will keep office logistics and administration running smoothly, even through chaotic election periods. You will often be the first point of contact for people contacting the Greens, so a helpful demeanour and good problem-solving skills will go a long way. You’re excited by grassroots democracy and people-powered movements, so you will love that supporting our members to do the work of the party is a big part of your week.
The Victorian Greens are a political party based on four key principles: ecological sustainability, grassroots democracy, social justice and peace and non-violence. Our movement is focused on delivering the plans we need to ensure that everyone has a good life. We're committed to ensuring that all people are treated equally, that our environment is protected, and that big donors can no longer buy the influence of politicians and governments.
The Member Support Officer is responsible for ensuring that we have a well-managed office with engaged volunteers, our members are welcomed and supported to do the work of the party, and we have the administrative support for party operations to run smoothly. You will be responsible for ensuring that:
Our office is organised and run smoothly
Office volunteers are engaged, trained and supported
New members are welcomed and set up in our systems
Victorian Greens members find it easy to renew their membership or have a positive offboarding experience if they leave
Our Branch office bearers are resourced and supported to do the work of the party
Our State Director has administrative support to do their role
Key party processes have administrative support, such as supporting internal elections and managing resource booking and access, event coordination, and booking training sessions,
Your work is coordinated with the rest of the engagement team, campaigns and the rest of state office
We encourage you to apply even if you don’t have all of the relevant skills. We’re looking for someone organised and thorough and with passion for our movement, which we prioritise over formal education or qualifications.
We’re committed to diversity and supporting the right person to grow into this role and thrive.
