The Cancer Liaison Officer is responsible for supporting Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) through the Improving First Nations Cancer Program.
This role focuses on working with state and territory governments to influence policy and approaches specific to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Reporting to the Public Health Manager, the position is responsible for developing culturally safe resources, coordinating, co-designing and delivering holistic and culturally safe and responsive cancer programs across the cancer journey, and fostering collaboration across health sectors.

We're looking for a passionate advocate with knowledge of Aboriginal health issues in WA and proven experience in policy development.
The ideal candidate will understand co-design principles and have experience working with the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with diverse groups including government agencies and community organisations.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Please note: In addition to the above skills and experience, the successful candidate will require an unrestricted WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence, and be required to submit a National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months).
