Novo Education Space (formerly known as Alesco Illawarra) is an independent Special Assistance School for Years 9-12, registered with the NSW Education Standards Authority. Based in Wollongong with additional campuses in the Southern Highlands and Shoalhaven, our purpose is to create capable, confident and self-assured young people who are connected to their community and able to forge a path to a productive future.
Novo Education Space operates under the auspices of WEA Illawarra, which is a not-for-profit Community College, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and Public Benevolent Institution.
This is an exciting time to be joining Novo Education Space. In 2021 we launched a new name that reflects our new direction. We are re-imagining what our team of educators and wellbeing staff can do to help our students achieve personal goals for their future without the constraints of an overly academic curriculum focused on mandatory hours and content, rigid assessment tasks, HSC Bands and the ATAR, which seem to have little relevance to the real-world skills young people need to learn in order to have a productive future and become positive contributors to their communities.
Is this you? We are a School of difference and changing the pathway in front of us for the benefit of every young person. Join the education revolution and be that point of difference.
We have a Full-time (37.5 hours/week) Wellbeing Manager position available at our WollongongCampus commencing as soon as possible.
This exciting role will see you stand out as a leader who will work collaboratively with others to facilitate quality learning opportunities for students, aligned with Novo Education Space vision, mission values and purpose. This will be achieved by maintaining a cohesive team, bringing together the disciplines of education and welfare to support the identification and addressing of health and social barriers to learning, empowering team members and ensuring they are provided with supervision, guidance, support and growth opportunities in line with professional development plans, school improvement priorities and agreed Trauma-Sensitive Positive Education practices.
