The Data Governance and Digital Health Research Program sits in the Digital Health Division The overarching vision of the Digital Health division is to enable “easy access to person-centred, smart and connected quality care”. Digital Health is responsible for enabling clinical staff to deliver timely, quality care to our patients and carers through innovative use of information technologies, and through strategic management of information and data across the organisation. It is also progressively developing and supporting initiatives to enable patients to use digital health innovations to support their own care and health management.

The Data Analyst (Privacy) provides support to the Chief Privacy Officer (the Director of Data Governance and Digital Health Research), leading Alfred Health’s monitoring of data usage and access to ensure patient and staff privacy is maintained throughout our operational areas.
The Data Analyst (Privacy) leads analytical work across multiple datasets and privacy monitoring tools and conducts forensic analysis to investigate privacy incidents. The role makes critical contributions to the Alfred Health Patient Privacy Framework with a focus on monitoring, detection and investigation of privacy incidents.
The Data Analyst (Privacy) will be skilled in both data analysis and have experience in forensic data analysis (either in cybercrime incidents or other types of incidents involving investigation using structured data). The successful candidate will possess strong technical communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues as required. This position will have a strong emphasis on establishing systematic and repeatable processes for monitoring use of patient data across Alfred Health’s diverse operational areas.
It has a core function of designing and implementing the monitoring aspects of the Alfred Health Patient Privacy Framework (with support from the Data Governance and Digital Health Research team). The Framework will involve management, analysis.
The role will also be responsible for advising Digital Health Leadership (including the Chief Privacy Officer) on improvements to the Alfred Health Patient Privacy Framework over time.
