Senior Research and Evaluation Officers - Evaluation of the Indigenous Australians' Health Programme

Allen + Clarke Consulting
  • Joining a multi-disciplinary team with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal members in leadership and team positions

We are looking for experienced researchers or evaluators to join our ground-breaking evaluation project that aims to strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander comprehensive primary health care systems across Australia.

The project, known as IAHP Yarnes, is an evaluation of the Australian Government’s investment in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care through the Indigenous Australians’ Health Programme (IAHP). The evaluation aims to learn how well the IAHP enables the primary health care system to work for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, demonstrate the difference the IAHP makes, and inform efforts to improve health and wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

IAHP Yarnes is a collaboration between Allen + Clarke, and Indigenous partners from Central Queensland University and Monaghan Dreaming. IAHP Yarnes was originally co-designed as a four-year evaluation in 2018. COVID-19 restrictions mean that now it will be undertaken over five years (2019-2023).

2021 sees IAHP Yarnes commencing the first of three participatory action research cycles, with fieldwork commencing over February – April in 16-18 place-based sites across Australia. The evaluation places Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander values, perspectives, and experiences at the centre to identify solutions and drive change.

  • Contribute to evaluation and research tool development; conduct interviews and yarning sessions and assist with facilitating workshops; work with qualitative data and undertake analysis; contribute to sense-making processes and the development of the evaluation findings; draft and review reports.
